Firearm seized and two arrested Limerick 12th September 2014

Gardaí from Roxoboro Road have seized a firearm (ballistic examination pending) and arrested two males following an incident in the Jonesboro area of Limerick.

The discovery was made when a number of males fled from Gardaí patrolling McDonough Avenue yesterday afternoon (12/9/2014). One round of ammunition along with an iron bar, a baseball bat and number of other items were also seized.

Two males aged in their late teens arrested in connection with the incident are currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939, at Roxboro Road Garda Station. (They can be detained for up to 72 hours.)

The investigation is ongoing.
