Fatal road traffic collision Co. Carlow 21st September 2014

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Co. Carlow on the 21st September 2014.

At approximately 20.50hrs a 27-year-old male was fatally injured when his motorcycle collided with a construction vehicle. The collision occurred on the R724 at Ballymoon, near Muine Bheag. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner was notified and the deceased has been removed to Waterford Regional Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The driver of the construction vehicle, a male aged in his 30s, was uninjured.

The road is closed to traffic and diversions are in place. Garda forensic collision investigators will carry out a technical examination at the scene this morning.
