Drug seizure and arrest in West Dublin on the 3/9/14

Gardaí from Clondalkin have seized a quantity of drugs and arrested a female following a search operation in west Dublin on 3rd September 2014.

As part of an ongoing investigation targeting the sale and supply of drugs Gardaí searched a house in Ballyfermot yesterday evening. During the search Heroin with an estimated street value of €150,000 (pending analysis) was seized.

A female aged in her 50's was arrested at the scene and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at Clondalkin Garda Station. (She can be detained for up to 7 days.)

These operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks. Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities. Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality.
