Armed Incident/Kidnapping in Dublin on the 25/9/14

Gardaí have launched an investigation following the abduction of three females from their home in Malahide Co Dublin in the early hours of this morning (25/9/14).

From where they were driven to the Post Office at Bayside, Sutton, Dublin 13 by three armed and masked men.

After a short time the raiders left the Post Office in a dark coloured car with an undisclosed amount of cash.

During the course of the morning, Gardaí became aware of the incident and a comprehensive response team was put in place involving both local and national units.

Members of the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) assisted by other Garda units intercepted a car on the Malahide Road. One man in his early 20s was arrested at the scene and an amount of cash recovered from the car.  A number of shots were discharged by Gardaí at this scene.

Gardaí are currently searching for two other men who are described as follows:

Late 40's / early 50's, grey white hair, chubby build, 5'10" in height wearing dark leggings and similar top

Late 40's / early 50's, chubby build, dark grey hair, wearing blue runners with a green stripe.

Both men spoke with Dublin accents.

 
The three females were uninjured, but have been through a traumatic experience and while we appreciate any assistance that media can give us in appealing for information on this crime, we would ask that they respect the privacy of the individuals involved as far as possible.
