Woman arrested - Death of 2 year old boy in Shankill, Dublin on the 16/10/14

Gardaí are investigating the death of a two year old boy at an apartment on Shanganagh Road, Shankill, Co. Dublin.

Gardaí received a call about an incident at the apartment shortly before 2pm. On arrival at the scene Gardaí discovered the body of a two year old boy. The boy was later pronounced dead by a doctor and the body remains at the scene.

The area has been preserved for technical examination and the Office of the State Pathologist has been notified. A woman in her 40's was arrested at the scene and is detained at Dun Laoghaire Garda Station.
