Man charged - Unauthorised taking at Dublin Airport on the 7/10/14

Gardaí have charged a man, 24 years, in connection with the unauthorised taking of a car at Dublin Airport on 7th October 2014.

The man is due to appear before Dublin District Court 4, Criminal Courts of Justice, this morning Wednesday, the 8th October 2014 at 10.30am.
 

The incident occurred at approximately 3.40pm on Tuesday 7th October 2014 at Dublin Airport. A man in his 60's was assaulted by another man, who then got into the injured man car and left the scene.

A member of the public, a man in his mid 40's, was knocked down while attempting to stop this car as it drove out of the Airport. Gardaí were alerted to the incident by Airport Police.

 
The car was stopped on Naul Road, Ballymun and a 24 year old man was arrested. One member of An Garda SIochána was injured during the arrest. He was taken to James Connolly Hospital for treatment and has since been released.

 
The arrested man was taken to Beaumont Hospital and was discharged following treatment for his injuries. He remains in Garda Custody at Ballymun Garda Station.

The injured party was brought to Beaumont Hospital with facial and other injuries.

The man knocked down at Dublin Airport during this incident was not seriously injured and did not attend hospital.
