Man charged - Drug seizure and arrest in Tyrellspass, Westmeath on the 16/10/14

Gardaí have charged a 32 year old man in connection with a drug seizure which occurred at Rathgarrett, Tyrellspass, County Westmeath yesterday morning Thursday 16th October 2014.

The man is due to appear before Portlaoise District Court this morning, Friday 17th October 2014 at 10.30am.
 

The seizure was made following the search of a premises as part of an ongoing operation into the illegal sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Westmeath area. Approximately 500 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €400,000 (subject to analysis) were seized.

Gardaí from Mullingar searched a premises this morning, 16th October 2014 in Rathgarrett, Tyrellspass where approximately 500 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €400,000 (subject to analysis) were seized.

 
One man in his 30's was arrested and is currently detained in Mullingar Garda Station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. The scene is currently being technically examined.
