Further Update - Dean Johnson Murder Investigation

Gardaí investigating the murder of Dean Johnson which occurred at Harelawn Green, Clondalkin, Dublin 22 on August 24th 2013 have made a further arrest in connection with this investigation.

A man, 25 years, was arrested this evening, Monday 13th October 2014 in Dublin and is detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939-1998 at Ronanstown Garda Station.  
 

This is the eight arrest in connection with this investigation to date.

Gardaí investigating the murder of Dean Johnson at Harelawn Green, Clondalkin, Dublin 22 on 24th August 2013 have this morning arrested two men in connection with this investigation.

Both men in their 20’s were arrested in the Dublin area.. One of the men is detained at Lucan Garda Station under Section 50 – Criminal Justice Act 2007, the other man is detained in Ronanstown Garda Station under Section 30 – Offences Against the State Act 1939.
 

A number of searches are currently ongoing in the Dublin / Kildare areas.
 

Seven people in total have been arrested in connection with this investigation to date.

Gardaí are investigating a fatal shooting at Harelawn Green, Clondalkin, Dublin 22. Gardaí responding to reports of a shooting discovered a man, believed to be in his early 20s with what appeared to be gunshot wounds at 12.20am on the 24th August 2013.

The area was immediately sealed off and the man was removed to Tallaght Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

A car which was later discovered on fire on Collinstown Crescent, Clondalkin is believed to have been used in the incident. This car has been preserved for technical examination.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the Harelawn Green, or Collinstown Crescent areas last night or early this morning to contact them at Ronanstown Garda Station on 666 7700.
