Fatal road traffic collision on James Street, Dublin 8 on the 4/10/14

Gardai in Kilmainham are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on James Street, Dublin 8 on the 4th October 2014.

The collision between a pedestrian and a car occurred at approximately 2.40am on James Street close to Steeven's Lane. The male pedestrian (62yrs) was pronounced dead at the scene and has been taken to the mortuary at St James Hospital. The male driver (58yrs) of the car was taken by ambulance to St James Hospital for treatment but his injuries are believed to be minor.
 
The road was closed to facilitate a Forensic Collision Examination but has since re-opened
