Gardai in Longford are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occured at Lisbrack, Newtownforbes, Co. Longford in the early hours of this morning Saturday, 18th October, 2014.
The collision occured at approximately 2.15 a.m. and the male driver, 19 years, was killed when the car he was driving left the road and struck a barrier. The driver was pronounced dead at scene and taken to Mullingar General Hospital. The road was closed for a Forensic collision examination and has now reopened.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have been on the road between 2a.m. and 2.30a.m. on the 18th October, to contact them in Longford on 043 3350570, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
