Violent disorder/assault in Tralee, Kerry on the 11/11/14

Gardaí in Tralee are investigating a public order incident and the assault of a 24 year old man which occurred at Rathass Cemetery, Tralee, County Kerry on Tuesday 11th November 2014 at approximately 12.30pm.

The man received stab wounds in an incident with a number of other males. He was taken to Kerry General Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

 
Gardaí arrested 6 males, aged between 15 and 34 years, after stopping two cars a short time later in connection with the incident. A number of weapons/knives were recovered from both cars.  They were detained at Tralee, Killarney & Castleisland Garda Stations under the provisions of  Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 as amended.

 
Five of the males were charged and will appear before Tralee District Court at 11am this morning the 12th November 2014. One male was released without charge investigations are ongoing.
