Fatal road traffic collision on the N2, near Ardee, Louth on the 13/11/14

Gardai in Ardee are investigating a single vehicle road traffic collision which occurred at Hunterstown, Ardee on the 13th November 2014.

The collision occurred at approximately 1.30am on the N2 (between Ardee and Collon) 5km from Ardee when a car collided with a bridge and a tree.  Both men (in their 20's) were seriously injured in the the collision.  One male was pronounced dead at the scene, his body has been removed to the Morgue at Our Lady of Loudes hospital in Drogheda, the other man was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital where his injuries are described as serious.

 
The road is currently closed to facilitate a Forensic collision examination and diversions are in place.

 
Gardai in Ardee are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have been on that road between 1am and 1.45am this morning the 13th November are asked to contact them in Ardee on 041 6871130, the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
