Witness appeal - Serious assault at Tallaght, Dublin on the 1/1/14

Gardaí are investigating the serious assault of a male, 20 years, which occurred at a pedestrian bridge, Priorsgate, Saint Dominic’s road/N81, Tallaght, on 1st January 2014 at approximately 4am.

The injured party suffered serious injuries as a result of this assault which was carried out by a number of suspects. He was taken from the scene to the Adelaide & Meath Hospital, Tallaght and later transferred to Beaumount Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

A male, 23 years and a female, 20 years, were arrested, in connection with this investigation and are currently detained at Tallaght Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have been in the vicinity of the pedestrian bridge at Priorsgate, Saint Dominic’s road, between 3.30am and 4.30am, Wednesday 1st January 2014, to contact them at Tallaght on 01 6666000, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
