Witness Appeal Lamb Alley Assault in Dublin on the 19/1/14

Gardaí investigating a serious assault in the Dublin 8 area, in the early hours of last Sunday morning, are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Kevin Street Garda Station.

The assault on a man in his 20s occurred at Lamb Alley, Dublin 8, between 1am and 1.30am on Sunday morning 19th January 2014. The injured man was discovered with serious head injuries and was removed to St. James’ Hospital and subsequently transferred to Beaumont, where he remains in a serious condition.  
 

This morning, Tuesday 21st January, Gardaí arrested two men and two women all in their 20s.  The two men are detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 and the women are detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act, 1939.  The four are being held at Irishtown, Pearse Street, Kevin Street and Kilmainham Garda Stations and all remain in custody.
 

Gardai are specifically looking to speak to a taxi driver who picked up two men on Meath Street at about 1.15am on Sunday morning.  The taxi was a dark or black saloon and possibly an Opel Insignia.  The men travelled a short distance and were dropped off on to Francis Street.
 

Gardaí are also looking for anyone who was in the Meath Street, Lamb Alley area between 1am and 1.30am to contact then at Kevin Street Garda Station on 01 666 9400

The assault on a man in his 20s occurred at Lamb Alley, Dublin 8, in the early hours of Sunday morning 19th January 2014. The injured man was discovered with serious head injuries and was removed to St. James’ Hospital and subsequently transferred to Beaumont, where he remains in a serious condition.
