Update - Drug Seizure and Arrests in Wilkinstown, Co. Meath on the 20/1/14

A 32-year-old female is expected to appear before a sitting of Navan District Court tomorrow morning (22/1/2014) charged in connection with this investigation.

Both males arrested have been released without charge and files will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardaí targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Meath area have seized a quantity of cannabis and have arrested two males and one female.

As part of a planned operation, Gardaí from Navan garda station searched a house in Wilkinstown at approximately 4pm yesterday evening, Monday the 20th January, 2014. During the search, a large quantity of cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €150,000 (pending analysis) was seized. Equipment believed to be used in the cultivation of cannabis plants was also seized.

Two males aged 59 years and 34 years, and a female aged 32 years were arrested at scene and were detained at Navan and Kells Garda Stations under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.  The two men were released from garda custody this afternoon and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.  The woman remains in custody in Navan Garda Station under Section 4, Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
