Update- Discovery of Body Finglas 11th January, 2014

At approximately 11am this morning Gardai received a call in relation to the discovery of a body in suspicious circumstances at Spring Mount Apartments, Wellmount Road, Finglas.

On arrival at the scene Gardai discovered a 29 year male in the bedroom of a ground floor apartment. The scene was immediately sealed off for a full technical examination and the offices of the State Pathologist notified.

 

The State Pathologist, Dr. Marie Cassidy, has visited the scene and conducted a preliminary examination. The body of the deceased has been removed to the City Morgue at Marino where a post mortem is currently underway.

 

Investigating Gardai await the results of the post mortem to determine the nature and direction of the investigation.

 

A Garda Family Liaison Officer (FLO) has been appointed and is liaising with the family of the deceased. Gardai will not be naming the deceased at this stage until all the family members have been informed.

 

An incident room has been set up at Finglas Garda Station to investigate all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of this body.

 

Gardai are aware that there was a party taking place at this address last night. Although to date a number of people have come forward and assisted Gardai with this investigation Gardai wish to appeal to any person/persons who may have attended this party between 8pm last night and 7am this morning to come forward.
