Gardaí in Killarney investigating a fatal, single vehicle road traffic collision that occurred on the N72, Killorglin to Killarney road at Ballydowney(2.5km outside Killarney) on the 6th January 2014

Gardaí in Killarney are investigating a fatal, single vehicle road traffic collision that occurred on the N72, Killorglin to Killarney road at Ballydowney(2.5km outside Killarney) today the 6th January 2014 at approximately 12:20pm.
The female driver of the vehicle, aged 47 years was pronounced dead at the scene. A female child aged 8 years, the only passenger in the vehicle, was transferred to Kerry General Hospital with what is believed to be non life threatening injuries. The road was closed to facilitate a Forensic collision examination but has since reopened.
