Further arrests - Assault & robbery in Limerick on the 8/1/14

Gardai at Roxboro Road Garda Station investigating the the robbery and assault that occured on the M20 Dooradoyle on Wednesday morning at 1.40a.m. have this evening, the 9th January, 2014 arrested a further man (mid 20s) and woman (early 20s).

The man is being detained at Henry Street Garda station and the woman is being detained at Roxboro Road garda station both under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Gardai in Roxboro Road are investigating a robbery and assault that occured on the M20 Dooradoyle on Wednesday morning at 1.40a.m. 8th January 2014.

The injured party a male in his 30's was forced off the road as he was travelling southbound in his car on the M20.  He was threatened at knife point and a sum of money taken from him, he was removed to Limerick Regional hospital and his injures are described as not life threatening and has since been released.
 

In follow up searches four people were arrested on the afternoon of the 8th Jan two men and two women. Two cars were also seized and are being technically examined. The two men (25 yrs and 31 yrs) are currently detained in Roxboro Road Garda Station under Section 4 Criminal Justice Act 1984  as amended  and the two women (28 years & 31 years) were taken to Henry Street Garda Station, one detained under Section 4 Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended  and she remains in custody and the other under Section 30, Offences Against the State Act 1939 as amended and she was released   later on the 8th Jan 2014 and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
