Gardai in Tipperary are investigating a two vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N74 at Thomastown at approximately 5.00pm this evening.
A male in his late 60’s, who was the driver and sole occupant, was fatally injured when the car he was driving collided with a tractor. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to South Tipperary General Hospital in Clonmel. The driver of the tractor was uninjured.
This stretch of road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
