Cannabis seizure and arrest in Mooncoin, Co Kilkenny on the 16/1/14

As part of an ongoing operation in the South Eastern Region, Gardaí from Mooncoin, Co Kilkenny have seized cannabis herb with a approx street value of €40,000.

The discovery was made in a car which was stopped at a checkpoint on the Main Street, Mooncoin yesterday evening 4pm.
 

The driver, (early 30's) the sole occupant, was arrested and taken to Thomastown Garda Station where he is currently detained under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.
