Arrests following Investigation into the robbery of mobile phones in the Dublin 2 area during December 2013

Gardai at Pearse Street investigating a series of robberies in Dublin City Centre during December 2013 in which smart phones were robbed from teenage boys, have arrested a number of people this morning.

As part of a planned operation Gardai conducted a number of searches in the Fairview, Finglas and Rathcoole areas of Dublin. During the searches 3 juvenile males and 2 adult males in their late teens were arrested.
 

All 5 were detained for questioning under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Pearse Street and Irishtown Garda Stations.
 

1 adult male has since been released without charge and 1 adult male has been charged in relation to the robberies and released on bail to appear at a future date.
 

The three juveniles have been charged in relation to these robberies and are scheduled to appear in the Childrens Court, Smithfield, Dublin on the morning of the 21/1/14.
