Speaking this evening at Garda Headquarters, Mr Callinan commented:

"Following the announcement today by An Taoiseach Enda Kenny TD of the Cabinet's decision to appoint a senior counsel to conduct an assessment of various issues and allegations complained of, An Garda Síochána looks forward to fully co-operating with the senior counsel.”
