Arrests following operation targeting armed robberies in the Dublin City area

Gardai in Pearse Street have made two arrests and seized a firearm as part of an ongoing investigation into a series of armed robberies of business premises in the Dublin City area over the past number of weeks.

Following an intelligence led operation a 44 year old male and a 21 year old female were  stopped and arrested by Gardai in the Aungier Street area of Dublin 2  this evening (28/02/14).

A firearm (subject to technical examination) was recovered.

Both are currently detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939, as amended, at Pearse Street Garda Station.
