Appeal for witnesses - Fatal road traffic collision at Curry, Longford on the 5/2/14

Gardaí investigating a fatal road traffic collision at Curry, Kenagh, Longford on the main Longford to Athlone Road on the 5th February 2014 are appealing for witnesses.

The collision occurred at Curry (approx 4 miles outside Longford) at approximately 6.10pm between a car (Deceased driver) and a 4 X 4 (three males 47, 46 and 38yrs). The three males were also taken to  Mullingar Regional Hospital for treatment but there injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

 
The road was re-opened last night.

 
Gardai are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have been on the Longford to Kenagh Rd between 5.50pm and 6.30pm to contact them in Longford on 043 3350570, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.

Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision at Curry, Kenagh, Longford on the main Longford to Athlone Road.

The two vehicle crash happened at about 6.10pm on the 5th February 2014.


A woman in her late 20s, the driver and only occupant of a car, was fatally injured in the collision and the driver and two passengers of a pick-up truck were also injured. All were taken to Midland Regional Hospital at Mullingar.  Their condition is not known at this time.


The road at the scene remains closed pending and examination of the area by Garda forensic collision investigators.
