Theft of dangerous equipment from a car in Dundalk, Louth on the 28/8/14

Gardai in Dundalk are currently investigating the circumstances of the theft of a Handheld X-Ray Fluorescent Metal Analyzer from a van in a hotel car park in Dundalk overnight.

The valuable device was taken from a white van parked in the car park of the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Green Park, Dundalk sometime between 10pm on the 27th and 9am on the 28th August 2014.

Gardai in Dundalk would like to advise the public that this device emits radiation,is dangerous and should only be used by trained personnel. The device was in a case when taken.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have any information to contact the Gardai at Dundalk on 042-9388400 the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
