Garda-Renewed Appeal Saggart Shooting

Gardaí investigating a fatal shooting incident which occurred shortly after 11pm on Tuesday 19th August 2014 in Saggart, Co. Dublin are renewing their appeal for information.

 Andy Connors was shot dead by a man wearing a balaclava who entered the house through an open door. A hand gun was used in the attack and a number of shots were discharged.

Two cars were located by Gardaí in the aftermath of the shooting.

A black Kia Sportage, stolen in Kilkenny on 16th July 2014, was recovered in the Mount Argus Area of Dublin on 19th August 2014. Original number plate was 12 KK, but when it was recovered it was bearing 11 LK registration plates.
A second car a white Opel Insignia, stolen in Carlow on 14th July 2014, was recovered, off the Blessington Road, near the Old Embankment Pub, on 19th August 2014. This car, originally a 10 C registration, when recovered it was bearing a 10 D registration.

Detective Inspector John Walsh of Tallaght Garda Station said "These cars were stolen a month before the incident and fitted with false plates. Somebody may have noticed them parked in a car park or stored at some facility and if anyone has information about these cars we’d like to hear from them."
