Drugs seizure Tallaght 29th August 2014

As part of an ongoing operation into the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Tymon North area of Tallaght, Gardaí from the Tallaght District Drugs Unit, seized cannabis herb to the value €40,000, (pending analysis), following the planned search of a premises on Saint Aongus Road on Friday 29th August 2014 at approximately 9pm.

A man, 45 years, was arrested at scene and detained at Tallaght Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. He has since been released from Garda custody without charge and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

These operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks. Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities. Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality.
