Carjacking incident Dublin 24th August 2014

Gardaí in Ballyfermot have arrested two males following an alleged carjacking incident in west Dublin on the 24th August, 2014.

At approximately 4:00 a.m. a male taxi driver was held and threatened at knife point by two males during an incident in the Park West area of Dublin. The taxi driver managed to free himself and escape unharmed before the two males drove off in the taxi. The car was abandoned and recovered a short distance from the scene by Gardaí.

During a follow up operation two males (aged in their 20s) were arrested by investigating Gardaí in the west Dublin area a short time later.

Both males are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Ballyfermot Garda Station.

The investigation is ongoing and further updates will follow.
