Gardaí at the Bridewell in Dublin investigating the murder of John Maguire at his home in Ormond Square, Dublin 7 yesterday (23/9/13) have tonight renewed their appeal for information.
Investigating officers are seeking information from any persons who may have seen any suspicious activity in Ormond Square and surrounding areas between 11am and 2.30pm yesterday afternoon or any Taxi drivers who may have picked up a fare in the area to contact the incident room at the Bridewell Garda Station on 01-666 8200, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda Station.

Gardaí at the Bridewell in Dublin received a 999 call at approximately 2.30pm today (23/9/13) indicating that an injured man had been found at an address at Ormond Square, Dublin 7.
Gardaí and Ambulance personal attended the scene. A 51 year old man was found to have severe upper body stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 3pm.
Investigating Gardaí immediately sealed off the area. The State Pathologist Professor Marie Cassidy carried out a preliminary examination at the scene. The body of the deceased has been removed to the City Morgue in Marino, a full Post Mortem examination will be carried out at 10am tomorrow morning (24/9/13)
A Garda family liaison officer has been appointed to the family. The 51 year deceased had lived in the area for over ten years.
Investigating Gardaí are appealing for information in relation to this incident, they are particularly anxious to hear from anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the general area of Ormond Square from 7.30am this morning to contact the incident room at the Bridewell Garda Station on 01-666 8200, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
Investigations are continuing.

Gardai at the Bridewell are investigating the circumstances of a fatal stabbing incident at Ormond Square, Dublin 7.
A 51-year-old male was discovered at house on Ormond Sq. at approximately 2.30 p.m. this afternoon (23/9/2013). The male had sustained a number of stab wounds. He was treated at the scene by Emergency Services but died a short time later.
The scene is preserved for a technical and forensic examination and the State Pathologist has been notified.
The investigation is ongoing and further updates will follow.
