Press Briefing - Identification of human remains found in Co Dublin on the 13/9/13

Gardaí will hold a press briefing in relation to the discovery of the body of Elaine O'Hara at Blackrock Garda Station, Dublin.

It will be at 6.30pm on Wednesday 18th September 2013.

Gardai investigating the discovery of human skeletal remains at Kilakee Mountain, Rathfarnham, on the 13th September 2013 have positively identified the remains as those of Elaine O'Hara who went missing on the 22nd August 2012.

Gardai in Blackrock are investigating all the circumstances of the discovery of the body of Elaine O'Hara and are renewing their appeal for anyone who may have seen Elaine between the 22nd August 2012 when she was last seen at Ballinclea Heights, Killiney and when her body was discovered on the 13th September 2013 at Kilakee Mountain, Rathfarnham, or anyone who may have any information is asked to contact Blackrock Garda station on 01 6665200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.

Gardai are investigating the discovery of human skeletal remains at Kilakee Mountain, Rathfarnham, on the 13th September 2013.

The discovery was made by a member of the public while out walking at approximately 7.30 p.m. yesterday evening (13/9/2013). The scene is preserved for a technical examination and the Deputy State Pathologist Dr. Curtis is expected to attend the scene later today. The services of a forensic anthropologist have also been requested.

No further information is available pending the completion of a post-mortem examination.

Gardaí at Stepaside, Dublin are seeking the public’s assistance in tracing the whereabouts of 36 year old Elaine O'Hara who has been missing since the 22nd August, 2012.
Elaine was last seen on Ballinclea Heights, Killiney. She is described as being 5’ 4” in height, stocky build with mousey brown hair. When last seen she was wearing jeans, runners and either a blue jacket or jumper.

Renewed Appeal - Missing Person Elaine O' Hara, Stepaside.
Gardaí at Stepaside, Dublin have renewed their appeal for assistance in tracing the whereabouts of 36 year old Elaine O’ Hara who has been missing since the 22nd August 2012.

Elaine was last seen leaving Belarmine Plaza, Stepaside at approximately 5.05pm on Wednesday the 22nd August 2012, and was subsequently sighted close to the footbridge that crosses the railway at Shanganagh Park, Shankill, Co.Dublin at approximately 6.15pm the same evening. Her car a Green Fiat Punto 05 D Registration was located by Gardaí at Shanganagh Cemetery, Shankill at 3pm on Friday the 24th August 2012.
 
She is described as being 5’ 4” in height, stocky build with mousey brown hair. When last seen she was wearing jeans, runners and either a blue jacket or jumper.
