As part of an operation targeting the cultivation of cannabis in the Kanturk area Gardai from the Kanturk District Drug Unit accompanied by the RSU conducted a planned search of two rural houses in Kanturk and Newmarket, Co.Cork this morning Friday 27th September, 2013.
During the course of the search cannabis plants with an estimated street value of up to €250,000 (pending analysis) were recovered in the two houses.
Two men (late 70s and mid 50s) were arrested at the scenes and are currently detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Kanturk Garda Station.
