Serious assault and burglary at St Anthony's Road, Rialto, Dublin on the 16/10/13

On the 16th October 2013 at approximately 1.25am Gardai from Kilmainham were alerted to the fact that there was possible intruders in a house on St Anthony's Road, Rialto.

When Gardai arrived at the house in question they found a male (69yrs) lying on the ground in the house with serious head injuries, an ambulance was immediately called for and the male was taken to St James Hospital for treatment, his injuries while serious are not life threatening. Gardai began a search of the immediate area.  A male (23yrs) was arrested on Herberton Road shortly afterwards and detained at Kilmainham Garda station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.


The male (23yrs) was charged in connection with the incident and will appear before Criminal Courts of Justice 3, Parkgate Street at 10.30am this morning, the 17th Oct 2013.
