Garda – Firearm recovered and one man arrested Co. Tipperary 13th October 2013

Gardai have arrested a man in his 30s and seized a firearm following a search operation in Co Tipperary on the 13th October 2013.

At approximately 0015 hours members of the Regional Support Unit and local units responding to a report of suspicious activity searched a van in Fethard.

During the course of the search they recovered a loaded shotgun and a knife. A male aged in his 30s was arrested at the scene. He is currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939 at Clonmel Garda Station.
