Male arrested in connection with theft from the National Library of Ireland on the 21/11/13

Gardai from National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (Arts & Antiques Unit) have arrested a 35 year old male in relation to the theft of a number of items which are the property of the National Library of Ireland.

Following a planned search at a house in the Clonsilla area of Dublin 15 at approx 7am this morning 21st November 2013 the man was arrested.  During the course of the search the property was recovered.  (Consisting of a large number of books and pamphlets some of which are of historical value).


The man is currently detained at Lucan Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.
