Gardaí at Letterkenny are investigating an incident in which it is believed a device exploded under a 4X4 vehicle outside a house in Manor View Park, Long Lane, Letterkenny, Co Donegal.
(The vehicle was parked on the public road) The incident occurred at approximately 4am this morning 22nd November 2013.
No-one was injured in the incident and the immediate vicinity has been evacuated. The area has been sealed off pending a Garda technical examination. A Defence Forces Explosive Ordinance Disposal team attended the scene.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area, or noticed a silver saloon type car seen in the area immediately after the incident is asked to contact Letterkenny Garda Station, or Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111.
