Gardaí at Salthill Bothar Na Tra are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Tully Church on the Galway to Carraroe road, on Sunday 3rd November 2013 at approximately 6.20pm.
A male pedestrian, 65 years, was fatally injured when struck by a car, while attempting to cross the road.
The deceased has been removed to University Hospital, Galway, where a post mortem is to be arranged.
The driver (sole occupant) of the single vehicle involved was uninjured.
The road is currently closed to traffic to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place. There will be pedestrian access to local schools and businesses, should the road remain closed in the morning.
