Fatal road traffic collision, Lisnagrish, Edgeworthstown, Longford on the 24/11/13

Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the N4 at Lisnagrish, Edgeworthstown, County Longford, on Sunday 24th November 2013 at approximately 7.45pm.

A female pedestrian, 74 years, was fatally injured, as she crossed the road.


The deceased was removed to Longford/Westmeath General Hospital, Mullingar, County Westmeath, and a post mortem is due to take place at Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore, County Offaly, this morning.


The N4, at Lisnagrish, was closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators but has since reopened.
