Fatal road traffic collision Co. Leitrim 16th November 2013

Gardai are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Co. Leitrim on the 16th November 2013.

A female pedestrian aged in her 60s was seriously injured when she was struck by a car shortly after 5 p.m. this evening (16/11/2013). The collision occurred on the R201 on the outskirts of Mohill Village. She was taken by ambulance to Sligo General Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the car was uninjured.

The road will remain closed to traffic overnight and diversions are in place. Forensic collision investigators are due to examine the scene in the morning.
