Arrest - Shooting incident in Drogheda, Louth on the 26/11/13

Gardai in Drogheda investigating an incident on Donore Road last night in which a male was shot in the leg have arrested a 26 year old male this morning in the Drogheda area in connection with the incident.

He is currently detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 at Drogheda Garda Station.

Gardai in Drogheda are investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Donore Road, Drogheda at approximately 9.30pm this evening in which a 30 year old male received a gunshot injury to his leg.

He made his way to a nearby shop where he raised the alarm. He was taken by Ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where he is described as being in a stable condition. 

The scene is currently preserved for a technical examination. 

Gardai wish to appeal for witnesses to this incident or to anyone that may have been on Donore Road near the Bus Station between 9.25pm and 9.40pm this evening and can assist with this investigation to contact Drogheda Garda Station on 041 – 9874200, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
