Armed Robbery Drogheda, Co. Louth, 16th November 2013

Gardai have arrested a 21-year-old male following an armed robbery at a public house on Marsh St., Drogheda, on the 16th of November 2013.

 

The incident occurred at approximately 815p.m. yesterday evening (16/11/2013) when two males armed with a knife and a shotgun entered the premises and held up staff. One of the raiders was a held at the scene when customers intervened, the second male fled the scene. A small amount of cash taken during the raid was later recovered.

A customer and staff member injured during the incident were taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries.

A male arrested at the scene is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at Drogheda Garda Station.

The investigation is ongoing.
