Armed robbery and arrest at Donnybrook, Dublin on the 19/11/13

A male aged in his 30s has been arrested by Gardai investigating an armed robbery in Donnybrook this morning, 19th November 2013.

The incident occurred at approximately 11.30 a.m. when 2 males armed with a firearm entered a Bank on the Stillorgan Road. They threatened staff and made off with a small amount of cash before leaving the scene in a car. The car was abandoned a short distance away by the raiders who then made off on a motorcycle.  Following a brief pursuit the passenger on the motorcycle was arrested in the Ringsend area by uniform Gardai. The motorcyclist fled the scene.


The male is currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the state Act, 1939, at Irishtown Garda Station.


There were no shots fired and no report of injuries during the incident. A firearm and an amount of money have been recovered by investigating Gardai.
