Witness appeal - Serious assault in Limerick on the 21/5/13

Gardai are investigating a serious assault on a male which occurred at Edward Street, Limerick on the 21st May 2013.

At approximately 3.30 p.m. a male aged in his early 30's sustained serious head injuries during an incident at Edward Street, Limerick.  He was taken by ambulance to Mid –Western Regional Hospital and later transferred to Cork University Hospital.


During a follow up operation Gardai from Roxboro Road arrested a male aged in his early 20's and a female in her late teens.  They are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Roxboro Road Garda Station.


Investigating Gardai are appealing for witnesses and in particular to anybody in the vicinity of Edward Street between 3 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. yesterday afternoon (21/5/2013) to contact them.  They are also appealing for information on any sightings of a light green coloured saloon car with a partial registration number 10 KY in the area of Edward Street around the time of the incident.
