Shooting Incident, Edenderry 2nd May, 2013

Gardai in Tullamore are investigating a shooting incident which occurred this morning 2nd May 2013 at approximately 10.40am in the the townland of Shean, Edenderry, Co. Offaly.

A number of shots were fired at male (in his mid 40s) while he was leaving his residence in his car (a silver Volkswagen Passat). The shots were fired from a silver Astra salon car partial reg 06-D. The male in his 40s then drove a short distance away, where he collided with a ditch and overturned his car.

Nobody was injured during the incident, however the driver and his three passengers sustained minor injuries as a result of the traffic collision.

Gardaí in Tullamore are investigating the incident and are making the following appeal to:

1. Anyone who was in the vicinity of the townland Shean, Edenderry, Co. Offaly between the hours of 9.30am and 10.40am this morning 2nd May 2013

2. Anyone who was in the vicinity of Shean, Edenderry where the silver Volkswagen Passat overturned

3. Anyone who observed the silver Astra car with the partial reg. 06-D in the vicinity of Shean.

An incident room has been established at Tullamore and Gardaí are appealing to anybody who may have information to contact them at 057-9327600, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
