Serious road traffic collision on the Clane to Celbridge Rd on the 1st May 2013

Gardai in Clane are investigating a serious road traffic collision which occurred on the Clane to Celbridge Road on 1st May 2013.

The collision occurred at approximately 7.13am at Longtown, Straffan(approximately 3km outside Clane) on the Clane to Celbridge Rd between a  male motorcyclist (33yrs) and a car, female driver in her late 20's. The motorcyclist was seriously injured and was taken to Naas General Hospital, the female car driver was also taken to Naas hospital but her injuries are described as not life threatening. She was the sole occupant of the car.

The road has been closed to facilitate a Forensic collision examination and diversions are in place.
