Serious road traffic collision at Portumna, Galway on the 8/5/13

Gardai in Portumna are at the scene of a serious single vehicle collision on the Portumna Bridge(road from Nenagh to Loughrea) which occurred on the 8th May 2013.

The collision occurred at approximately 6.30am when a van collided with the bridge. There was four male occupants(no ages at this stage) in the van at the time of the collision. One male received head injuries and was taken to Portiuncla Hospital in Ballinasloe where his injuries are described as serious. The other three were uninjured.


The road has been closed for a Forensic Collision examination.
