Gardaí at Cahir are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the M8 Southbound in the townland of Raheenrow, Tipperary at approximately 2a.m. this morning, the Friday 24th May 2013.
A male driver in his early 80's was fatally injured when his car collided with a truck. The driver of the truck was uninjured. The deceased was removed to South Tipperary Hospital where a post mortem examination will take place.
The road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and diversions are in place.
