Court Appearance - Murder of Ger Delaney on the 27/12/11

A man in his early 20's is due to appear before Cork City Court this morning 31st May, 2013 charged in relation to the murder of Ger Delaney on 27th December 2011.

Gardaí at Togher in Cork are investigating a fatal assault that occurred in the early hours of this morning, Tuesday 27th December 2011. 

A row broke out in a public house on Lower Friars Walk, Ballyphehane, sometime after mid-night and it continued to the street outside. As a result of the row a 51 year old man received serious injuries and was taken to Cork University Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. 

Two men were arrested for public order offences and have subsequently been released from custody without charge pending further investigation. 

An 18 year old male and a female in her 20’s were taken to Mercy University Hospital with injuries not believed to be life threatening.
