Arrests following armed robbery in Rathfarnham, Dublin on the 16/5/13

Gardai have arrested two males following an armed robbery in Rathfarmham.

At approximately 8.50pm last night three men entered a supermarket on Grange Road, Rathfarmham armed with what was reported as a baseball bat and a handgun. They threatened staff and escaped with a sum of money in a waiting car. There were no injuries. 
 

A car and suspects were located by gardai at Whitehall Road in Churchtown a short time later and following a foot pursuit two males, one in his early 30’s and the other in his 20’s, were arrested and a handgun recovered ( subject to technical examination). A quantity of money was also recovered. 
 

The two males are currently in custody in Tallaght Garda Station under Section 30 of The Offences Against the State Act.
