Gardai in are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Westport on Saturday 16th March 2013.
At approximately 11p.m. at 17-year-old male was seriously injured when he sustained a number of stab wounds during an incident at Railway Walk. He was taken by ambulance to Mayo General Hospital. His condition is currently described as stable. Three males aged in their late teens were arrested and are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at Westport Garda Station. A technical examination of the scene is underway and enquiries are ongoing.
Investigating gardai are appealing for witnesses and in particular anyone in the vicinity of Railway Walk between 10.30 p.m. and 11p.m. last night (16/3/2013) to contact them.
