Discovery of two bodies on the coastline at Ballydehob on the 6/3/13

Gardai in Bantry are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of two bodies (a male 50 yrs and a female child 3 yrs) at Ballydehob, Co. Cork on the 6th March 2013.

Shortly before midnight on the 5th March Gardai responding to a call went to a farm at Foilnamuck, Ballydehob.  A search of the farmland and surrounding area was undertaken. The  coastline was searched by the Valentia Coastguard. The body of a child was located in the water close to shore shortly before 2am. The body of a male was discovered a short time later in the water nearby. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. They were removed to University Hospital Cork where  Dr Margaret Bolster of the State Pathologist Office will perform  a post mortem later this morning.
